ELKHART LAKE, Wisconsin (August 7, 2016) – Ben Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen and the No. 33 Gas Monkey Garage Dodge Viper GT3-R Riley Motorsports team won the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase for the second-year-in-a-row Sunday at Road America. The win was the second career victory at Road America for and second this season after first winning in Detroit in June. After qualifying fourth on Saturday, Keating started the race and charged up to third on the first lap. He raced clean and competitively throughout his stint and handed the Viper off to Bleekemolen 53 minutes into the two-hour and 40-minute race.

Promising Day Cut Short - No. 20 GasMonkey PC Involved In Massive Shunt

Qualifying 4th and getting out to a good start, the BAR1 No. 20 GasMonkey / Southwest Funding PC was showing a lot of promise for Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, round three of 2016 Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup. Unfortunately, while battling for second place, racing contact ended Johnny Mowlem’s and the team’s day. Fortunately, Mowlem escaped the spectacular crash uninjured, though nursing some bruised ribs. The car did not fair so well. With next week’s Canadian Motorsport Park looming on the horizon, the team immediately got to work rebuilding the car.

WATKINS GLEN, New York (July 3, 2016) – relied on top team strategy and pit work by Riley Motorsports and great driving by Ben Keating and Jeroen Bleekemolen to finish fourth Sunday in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen despite recent rules changes that made the No. 33 Gas Monkey Garage Dodge Viper GT3-R significantly slower than the majority of the IMSA GT Daytona (GTD) competition.  After Keating and Bleekemolen took the victory one race ago last month in Detroit, the Dodge Viper GT3-R was hit with an IMSA Balance of Performance (BoP) rule change requiring 1 millimeter smaller air restrictors. At the same time, several other manufacturers were granted 2 millimeter larger restrictors allowing for better engine air flow.

Trophy Club, Texas native Nur Ali will make his first start of the 2016 GRC Lites season this weekend at Red Bull Global Rallycross Dallas, held at Fair Park this Friday and Saturday. Ali will return to the wheel in the series with a new team, Rhys Millen Racing, in the third round on this year’s calendar. “Rhys Millen Racing is a mainstay of the series,” Ali said. “The experience that they have as a team, combined with Rhys as a driver, are one of the reasons why we decided to go with RMR for my home race in Dallas. The goal is to be standing on top of the podium with the number one beneath me, with my family and friends in the crowd, and I have a feeling that this will be a really good weekend for us!”
